Glad Our Checkup is OVER and DONE

Whew. Harlen is going through a big drama queen phase right now. And by that I mean she is scared of many things. Not usually people, but rides, noises, trucks, and all things that involve the doctor. She is afraid of everything at the doctor. The scale, having her head measured, the doctor looking in her ears, eyes, mouth, etc, etc, etc. There was a lot of screaming, a few seconds of breath holding, kicking, tears (oh, the tears), some blubbering, and a whole lot of waiting on the doctor and nurses. With all that said, I am thankful to say that all of the torturous things that they did showed that she is one healthy girl. Growing just right and smart as can be. She is 31 inches (75th percentile) and 25 pounds (75th percentile). She can do all of the milestones that she needs to be accomplishing. We are lucky. She had to get three shots. You can imagine her excitement. And we will be starting her on a combination of coconut, rice, and almond milk (to get a well-rounded amount of nutrients) in the next few weeks.
Soon we get to do it all over again at 18 months. Will that be enough time to forget this doctor's appointment?
All ready for her appointment.
In the waiting room. She was so quiet. She wasn't so sure about this place. I'm surprised she didn't remember it.
Waiting on the doctor and playing around on things she probably should be touching or messing with. What else do you do to keep a 16 month old entertained in a confined space for 45 minutes while trying to distract her from the other screaming kids, in the rooms around us, who are getting their shots?!?
Shortly after we got home. Sweet dreams, angel.
Then, I made her a snuggly spot with her "friends" so she could watch Tangled. She was one happy girl.
How cute and content is she?
Oh... her daddy taught her how to kick a ball earlier this week while I was at Zumba. Watch her go!
